Benjamin Boswick

MASTER OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE M4 STUDENT

I am currently working on my practicum for my Master of Landscape Architecture degree at the University of Manitoba after completing my Bachelor of Environmental Design degree in the Landscape and Urbanism stream in the Winter 2021 term. My main career aspirations lie in Landscape Architecture and technical design work. My previous work experiences include design and research support, site documentation, direct customer service, maintaining and developing knowledge of various building products and design software, and quoting and estimating integral residential components. I appreciate and value the benefit of any knowledge and experience gained during my education and from any workplace.

Bachelor of Environmental Design (Sep 2016 - May 2021)

After graduating from high school in June 2016 I started my first year of university in the U1 Program for Fall 2016/Winter 2017, taking a wide variety of courses to get an idea of several different fields of study. For my second year, I transferred into the Faculty of Science (General) for Fall 2017/Winter 2018 and applied to the Faculty of Architecture Environmental Design program for the following Fall 2018/Winter 2019 school year. Throughout the year in Environmental Design 2, I gained further interest in Landscape Architecture and Urban Design which led me to apply for the Landscape + Urbanism option for Environmental Design 3 for the Fall 2019/Winter 2020 year. At the start of my final year in the Environmental Design program, I decided to pursue a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, starting the following year, in the Fall 2021 term.

Master of Landscape Architecture (Sep 2021 - Present)

As of December 2022, I have completed all necessary course requirements for the degree over the Fall 2021, Winter 2022, Summer 2022, and Fall 2022 terms. Currently, I am working on the preliminary stages of my practicum. I intend to focus on wetlands within Manitoba, the Red and Assiniboine Rivers and their tributaries to improve the conditions of the rivers and Lake Winnipeg.
